Potassium chloride

 Potassium chloride

Potassium chloride - a means of influencing the tissue metabolism.

Pharmacological action

Potassium chloride sets in the body water and electrolyte balance.

In high doses, it means a moderate diuretic effect, narrows the blood vessels, in small doses - dilates blood vessels.

A solution of potassium chloride participates in conduction of nerve impulses, increases the production of adrenal epinephrine maintains intracellular osmotic pressure involved in the transport of amino acids to stimulate muscle contraction in myasthenia gravis, muscular dystrophy.

The increased concentration of the drug reduces the risk of toxic effects of cardiac glycosides.

Product form

Producing infusion solution Potassium chloride 5, 4, 10%, powder for its preparation, and a solution of tablets for internal use.

Indications Potassium chloride

Potassium chloride is prescribed for hypokalemia, for the treatment, prevention, digitalis intoxication, prevention of arrhythmias in patients with acute myocardial.

mode of application

For the treatment of hypokalemia, accompanied by disturbances of heart rhythm is assigned 1-1 5g of the drug 4-5r per day. Once your heart rate recovers, the dosage is reduced.

If digitalis intoxication 2-3gr administered daily, in severe cases, administered Potassium chloride 5 g.

 A solution of potassium chloride
