Structure and Composition

Omnic as capsules modified release on 0, 4 mg. The active ingredient - tamsulosin. Also, the product contains auxiliary components (microcrystalline cellulose, polysorbate, sodium lauryl sulfate, a copolymer of methacrylic acid, triacetin, calcium stearate, talc, titanium dioxide, gelatin, indigotin).

Omnic is made in blister packs of 10 tablets in a carton 1 or 3 blisters.

The pharmacological action of Omnicom

According to the instructions Omnic is a specific blocker of α 1 adrenoceptor, which are in smooth muscle fibers of the prostate, bladder neck and prostatic urethra. As a result of the drug decreases the tonus of smooth muscles of the prostate, bladder and urethra, which leads to improved flow of urine. Active substance Omnic high selectivity, i.e. it does not affect the smooth muscle fibers in the vessel wall, thereby causing the drug does not reduce systemic arterial pressure.

According to the instructions, Omnic has almost 100% bioavailability. The maximum dose of the drug in the blood is determined 6 hours after ingestion. Omnic and its metabolites are excreted by the kidneys, about 9% of the drug is excreted unchanged form. The half-life of 10-13 hours of preparation. Contraindications Omnicom

  • Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug;
  • severe hepatic impairment;
  • orthostatic hypotension (drop in pressure at the sudden change in body position).

Dosing and Administration

According to the instructions Omnic be taken 1 time a day 1 capsule (0, 4 mg). The capsule formulation should be swallowed whole without chewing.

Side effects Omnicom

In the opinion of Omnic rarely causes adverse reactions in the form of dizziness, palpitations, headache, asthenia, orthostatic hypotension, retrograde ejaculation (ejaculation in the opposite direction - to the bladder).

From the digestive system, reviews, Omnic may rarely cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

In isolated cases hypersensitivity reactions may occur (pruritus, rash, angioedema).


Currently there are no reports of overdose Omnicom. Theoretically, it can be assumed that the patient may experience a sharp drop in blood pressure, increased heart compensatory heart rate. Omnicom Interaction with other drugs

According to the instructions Omnic may be combined with the use of atenolol, enalapril, nifedipine, as the interactions between these drugs have been identified.

At simultaneous reception Omnicom and cimetidine was found a slight increase in the concentration of tamsulosin in blood serum, but it does not require dose adjustment.

When using Omnic furosemide concentration in serum may slightly decrease, but the concentration of the drug is in the therapeutic range.

The use of diclofenac and warfarin may increase the rate of excretion of Omnicom.

In experiments in vitro (in vitro) revealed no interaction with Omnic diazepam, propranolol, simvastatin.

Simultaneous use with other Omnicom α1-blockers may cause decreased blood pressure.


Application Omnic may in some cases cause a reduction in blood pressure that can lead to fainting. When the first symptoms of hypotension (weakness, dizziness), the patient should sit or lie down and remain in that position until the disappearance of these signs.

Note that if the patient while taking Omnicom requires cataract surgery that is likely to develop the syndrome narrow pupil intraoperatively. This should be considered during ophthalmic surgery preoperative preparation.

Before treatment, the patient should be Omnicom carefully examined to rule out other diseases of the prostate with similar symptoms. Before and during treatment Omnicom recommended ultrasound of the pelvic organs and blood determination of PSA (prostate-specific antigen).
