Pharmacological action Normase

According to the instructions, Normase has a laxative effect, as the drug has hyperosmotic, gipoammoniemichesky effects, improves the absorption of calcium and phosphate, stimulates peristalsis of the small and large intestine.

Normase influence the microflora of the colon (increase the number of lactobacilli), thereby increasing the acidity in the lumen of the intestine and stimulating peristalsis. In addition, the drug increases the volume of feces and their softening. According to the instructions Normase no direct effect on the smooth muscle fibers of the colon or mucosa, unlike other laxatives. Also, the drug "picks" the ammonia compounds from the blood, reduces the formation of toxic nitrogen-containing compounds in the proximal bowel, and thus reduces the absorption of these substances through the inferior vena cava.

According to the instructions, Normase has an effect 24-48 hours due to the passage of the drug through the digestive tract. Normase not interfere with the absorption of vitamins.

Application Normase slows the growth of Salmonella and other pathogenic microorganisms in the colon.

Normase take the following diseases and conditions:

  • chronic constipation, functional nature;
  • to soften the stool hemorrhoids, anal fissures, and after surgery for anorectal;
  • hepatic encephalopathy, hepatic precoma / coma, hyperammonemia;
  • goiter;
  • Some acute intestinal infection in the lungs and moderate forms (salmonellosis, etc..).

Use during pregnancy and lactation

It is known that the drug is not absorbed into the systemic circulation. However, clinical studies on the use Normase in this group of patients has been conducted, so the use of the drug requires careful risk benefit ratio.

Dosing and Administration Normase

According to the instructions Normase need to be taken orally after a meal.

In the treatment of constipation is recommended for adults to take 15-40 ml of the drug during the first 3 days, then the dose can be reduced to 10-25 mL.

For children over 6 years recommended in the first 3 days taking 15 ml per day, and the dosage is reduced to 10 ml.

Children older than 1 year is recommended to take 5-10 ml of the drug 3 times a day.

Infants up to 1 year - 5 ml twice daily.
