Pharmacological action

Indications kardiket

  • For the prevention of strokes in long-term treatment of coronary heart disease;
  • For secondary prevention of myocardial infarction;
  • In chronic heart failure in combination therapy with ACE inhibitors, cardiac glycosides and diuretics.


Kardiket retard is contraindicated in:

  • Acute vascular insufficiency (including the vascular collapse and shock);
  • Severe arterial hypotension;
  • Traumatic brain injury;
  • Severe aortic and mitral stenosis;
  • Hemorrhagic stroke;
  • Angle-closure glaucoma with high intraocular pressure;
  • Acute myocardial infarction (with marked hypotension);
  • Hypovolemia;
  • Concomitantly with phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (sildenafil, vardenafil or tadalafil);
  • Hypersensitivity to nitrate medications.

Kardiket not used in pediatrics because of the unknown efficacy and safety, and elderly patients prescribed with extreme caution.

Kardiket retard a relative contraindication to the use of:

  • Severe anemia;
  • Constrictive pericarditis;
  • Toxic pulmonary edema;
  • Cardiac tamponade;
  • Bleeding in the brain;
  • Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (possibly more frequent angina attacks).

Kardiket retard, not liquid, is taken orally with or without food and washed down with a small amount of liquid.

Application kardiket begin with minimal doses and slowly increased to be effective. The drug can be taken for a long time, the duration of the course is determined individually by your doctor.

According to the instructions Kardiket apply:

  • 20 mg - 1 tablet twice daily, increased dose - 3 times per day;
  • 40 mg and 60 mg - 1 tablet once a day or twice a day poltabletki. If necessary to increase the dose of 1 tablet taken twice daily at an interval between doses of at least 8 hours;
  • Capsules of 120 mg taken one day.

Side effects

When using kardiket may occur drowsiness, blurred vision, stiffness, cerebral ischemia, decreased ability to rapid mental and motor responses.
