Clemastine Tablets
 Clemastine (Clemastine) is a drug that is the H-1 histamine blockers derivatives pirollina.

Pharmacological properties

Clemastine exerts influence on the organism, reduces manifestations of allergic reactions. Also it works as a remedy for itching antiexudative and antihistamine.

Step H-1 histamine blockers:

  • decrease vascular permeability;
  • hindering the development of edema;
  • sedation;
  • preventing the contraction of smooth muscle and the development of validation;
  • decrease itching.

Clemastine is also acts as a local anesthetic. It does not cause drowsiness.

The results obtained experimentally show that the drug is not carcinogenic, mutagenic or teratogenic effects. When administered to rats clemastine dose exceeding 312 times the recommended for adults, found that the drug has a negative impact on their fertility.

Maximum antihistaminic effect of the drug is achieved within 5-7 hours, then stored for an additional 10-12 hours.

  • an allergic reaction or pseudoallergic (as a preventive measure);
  • Acute iridocyclitis.

Instructions clemastine: Dosage and administration methods

Take Clemastine before meals twice a day. The daily dose of 2 mg, and can be increased in some cases up to 3-6 mg. For children calculated from the age of the patient:

  • children from one year to six years twice a day (morning and evening) provide in the form of Clemastine syrup at 0, 67 mg per reception (one teaspoon);
  • for children from six to twelve years prescribed take 1 mg per day (twice a day for 0, 5 mg).

Intramuscular and intravenous injections made using 2 mg at a time twice a day (morning / afternoon).

Babies Clemastine administered intramuscularly, starting from 25 mg / kg / day. This dose is divided into half and administered in the morning and evening.

According to the instructions to clemastine, an overdose in children may occur: dry mouth, deterioration of motor coordination, hallucinations, fever, increased arousal, lack of reaction of pupils to light, seizures, depression, disorders of the heart and respiration until death. In case of overdose in adults may be: drowsiness, collapse, CNS depression, coma.
